About Us
Ridge Canoe And Kayak Club is mainly a community based, family oriented paddling club. The majority of the athletes are youth or children, and they have a lot of fun and at the same time, they have a chance to compete in regattas.
Since RCKC is community based rather than profit based, the costs would be kept low by having volunteers run the club. Most of the costs go to hire high quality coaches and to pay for maintenance and equipment. In order to do that, the club depends on funding from membership, government grants, and fundraising events.
As a member, you will find that the price you pay for training is much lower than if you train at a swimming pool, fitness centre, and paddling centre combined. If your child is a competitive athlete, they can qualify for government grants to pay for travel costs to regattas outside of the local area. Also, as a parent, you may qualify for tax benefits (see your tax advisor).
