Competitive Paddling Program
RCKC boasts one of the best competitive paddling teams in Western Canada, with athletes competing successfully at events across North America - including National and International competitions. Our certified coaches work with the athletes to develop their speed, endurance, strength and power in a fun and safe environment. Competitive athletes can qualify for funding assistance based on performance levels which can be used for training, equipment, or travel expenses. Nutrition, goal setting and sport psychology sessions are often incorporated into training camps. Year-round training is provided and we are often on the water throughout the winter months, giving our athletes an advantage over the rest of the country. Whether travelling throughout BC, the country, or the world, many friends will be made in a sport which can be enjoyed for life.
For information on competitive programs, contact the Head Coach, Peter Majewski (Certified Level 3 NCCP Coach) at head_coach@rckc.ca or phone (778) 898–4097.
To register, contact the Program Coordinator at program_coordinator@rckc.ca.
Please note, the Spring and Summer fees includes the Club Membership Fee of $240, which covers each family. If more than one child participates in the competitive programs, the Club Membership Fee applies to the first child, and $240 is subtracted for subsequent family members. This applies to the fees listed in the Spring and Summer session in the competitive programs only.
For example, Ann, Bob, and Don are from the Smith family. Ann is in the Junior Development program, Bob is in the Junior Competitive program, and Don is in the Senior Competitive program. If they were from separate families, their fees would be:
Ann: $490 + $30 insurance (Ann is 14 years old), Bob: $660 + $70 insurance, Don: $910 + $70 insurance.
As members of the same family, their fees would be:
Ann: $490 + $30 insurance, Bob: $420 + $70 insurance, Don: $670 + $70 insurance.
If you have any questions on this, contact the treasurer.
A monthly payment option is available for an additional $25 annual service fee. For more information, contact the treasurer.
